LAST CHANCE! This weekend marks the final opportunity to enjoy the abstract artwork of Colleen Clapp and Ed Ramsburg in the “Prism” exhibit on display at Gallery 20 East.

NEW FEATURE! Another new series highlighting the process behind the creation of theatrical works begins on Saturday evening at 6:00 pm, as a cast of actors and actresses from the area will gather inside Gallery 20 East to participate in a read-through of “Round Duffy Square,” a musical with book and lyrics by New York-based playwright Donald Loftus, and music from Waynesboro’s Andrew Sussman. Based on a short-story by Damon Runyon titled “Madame La Gimp” (which was also the inspiration for two movies – “Pocketful of Miracles” and “Lady For a Day”), members of the community are invited to watch and then discuss the work with the creative team. While a few songs will be performed, the read-through is primarily planned to assist in the development of the play upon which the musical will be based.  The creative team of Sussman and Loftus have written two previous musicals, “Abbey Victoria: A Musical Daydream” and “Pollyanna,” both of which were performed in staged settings in New York and Pennsylvania.

Actors and actresses participating in the reading are Kay Yaukey, Elisabeth Turchi, Katie Bradley, Richard Shoap, Scott Hershberger, Jerry Kowallis, Sally Herritt, Lindsey Shoap, Rebecca Reed, Michael DiMercurio, Adam Marinelli, Alex Marinelli and Dan Pittman.
