“Destination ARTS!” Gallery Events – April 17 – 19

“Destination ARTS!” activities continue in Waynesboro with live music every weekend and events and artist demonstrations scheduled at Gallery 50 and 42 West ARTS Co-Op.  The Ceramic Arts Center of Waynesboro and The Contemporary School of the Arts & Gallery will also be open with art and pottery for sale and art classes available.  All galleries are open each week from Thursday through Saturday. We will be closed Easter Sunday.

Wine Down Friday Tonight!
Come See the New Show and Meet Friends!

WineDoneThe month of April continues with yet another special edition of “Wine Down Friday!” Our new, internationally-themed art show has opened at Gallery 50, as paintings and photographs depicting scenes from countries such as Germany, Iceland and the Czech Republic are on display. Come, meet friends and enjoy the music!

 

 

Brad Munn cropFeatured Entertainment This Week! –

“Destination ARTS!” favorite, Brad Munn, returns to Gallery 50 to entertain another audience during “Wine Down Friday” on April 18. He and his guitar are set to begin performing a blend of bluegrass, country and rock music at 5:00 p.m.

Also on Friday night – Wine and light refreshments will also be served from 5:00 to 8:00 at 42 West ARTS Co-Op while Patric Schlee performs on the flute and drums.

April’s “Featured Artist” – A Double Feature

“Featured Artist” series at Gallery 50 highlights artists Lyn Marsh and Jeanne Hartman during April.

The public is invited to view works by featured artists Lyn Marsh and Jeanne Hartman in Gallery 50 at 50 West Main Street, Waynesboro, as part of the ongoing introduction of new artists each month. Chat with us about the artists and view the latest additions to the Gallery’s display of artwork, all of which is for sale.

LynMarshWatercolor300Lyn Marsh is from central Pennsylvania where she is recognized as a leader in the art community. Her award-winning works speak beautifully to her philosophy that “Art is my way of embracing the world around me.” Her diverse works demonstrate her love of color, expression of light and shadow, and her attention to design and composition. A student of both private and group workshops, she settled near Harrisburg after receiving her degree from the Wyomissing Institute of Fine Art. In addition to her privileged participation in numerous solo and group shows, she serves on various art organizations and boards. Most notably Lyn is founder of the “Painter Capucines” which is the realization of her vision to establish a group of female artists who paint and display their works throughout the area.

JeanneHartmanJeanne Hartman resides in Dillsburg, Pennsylvania and is primarily a watercolor artist. Her work is included in the permanent collection of the Art Association of Harrisburg.   She teaches Free Spirit Watercolor Class at the Art Center School and Gallery in Mechanicsburg, and is a member of multiple art associations. She has served two years as President of the Pennsylvania Art Association.   Her work “Victorian Dress and Bonnet” was selected to appear in the June Edition of the Eastern States calendar. Limited edition prints of her Victorian paintings are displayed prominently in the Harrisburg Hotel Hilton.

Saturday at 42 West Artists Co-Op

Andy Smetzer300Photographer Andy Smetzer is scheduled to be at 42 West from 2:00 until 4:00 on the afternoon of Saturday, April 19. Smetzer will demonstrate how he blended and layered a variety of images to create the mysterious destination depicted in his “Alien Island” picture.

Ellen Dorosh300At the same time on Saturday, Ellen Dorosh will be weaving on a loom at the co-op. After taking her first formal weaving class in 1991, Dorosh has attended numerous fiber conferences and workshops to study with nationally and internationally known instructors. A resident of Pen Mar, she is currently the president of the Mid-Atlantic Fiber Association.

Still Life WorkshopDonna Bingaman

…will be teaching her Still Life Oil Painting class at 42 West on Saturday. Sign-ups for her next class are being accepted by calling 717-762-8394.

In addition to the work she has featured on Main Street, Bingaman’s paintings can also be seen at her studio at 5797 Iron Bridge Road in Waynesboro, as well as at The Mansion House in Hagerstown.
