Lynda Beckwith

Lynda Beckwith

Artist Lynda Beckwith is scheduled to lead an etching demonstration at Gallery 50 from 2:00 to 4:00 on Saturday afternoon. A resident of Mercersburg, Beckwith first became interested in etching after taking a class in 1981. She truly began to perfect the craft while working with the Penn’s Woods Printmakers in 2004, and now, anyone who comes to downtown Waynesboro on Saturday can learn to etch as well.

Pat Beard Weaving300

Also on Saturday afternoon, Pat Beard returns to 42 West to spin alpaca yarn. Known for combining a variety of colors and textures with a touch of shiny yarn, Beard uses old-fashioned looms for her weaving before washing each panel, sewing on an industrial machine and carefully completing her creations by hand. Her demonstration begins at 1:00 p.m.

BasketUtile

Co-Op members have also announced that a basket-making workshop will be instructed by Sue Matson from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 17. Class members will learn basic weaving skills while gaining an understanding of basket construction. No experience is necessary. For more information, call 717-762-8394.
