Brad Clever, local artist, will showcase his artwork at Destination ARTS!, Gallery 50

Brad Clever Showcase and Reception In Gallery 50

The inauguration of Governor Tom Wolfe included a special exhibit at the State Museum of Pennsylvania in Harrisburg, featuring artists from Pennsylvania’s history and current works of talented artists from around the state.  Local artist Brad Clever’s oil painting “The Dressing Gown,” was part of that exhibition.

Submissions for potential inclusion were by special invitation.  “It was a real honor for us to be asked to submit art for possible inclusion in this exhibit.  To have one of our submissions accepted was very exciting,” said Andrew Sussman, Board President and Founder of the Arts Alliance of Greater Waynesboro and Destination ARTS! “Only 55 artists were featured from around the state, including the iconic ones such as Wyeth, Eakins and Warhol and this was a great acknowledgement of Mr. Clever’s talent!”

Brad Clever said he was honored to have been asked to participate in this exhibition and most of all to have his painting hang beside the Pennsylvania masters of the past 250 years.  He has been painting still life themes for over 25 years and has gained national recognition in galleries spanning the country since the early 1980s.

Brad CleverMr. Clever has affiliations with several major galleries around the country and he has won a number of awards for his work, including the 2013 Best of Show at the Cumberland Valley Artists Exhibition at the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts.  His work has also been featured in “American Artist” and “The Artists Magazine”.  Clever retired in 2001 after 32 years of service as Art Director from The Beistle Co. a maker of seasonal paper decorations.  He has a BFA from the Virginia Commonwealth University with a major in Communication Arts and Graphic Design.
