Waynesboro, PA, April 6, 2016: Destination ARTS! activities continue in Waynesboro, PA with art exhibits and special events scheduled at Gallery 50, 42 West ARTS Co-Op, Through the Lens & Beyond, and the Ceramic Arts Center of Waynesboro. The galleries feature oil paintings, watercolors, pottery, sculptures, jewelry, photographs, furniture, and more. All events are free unless otherwise indicated. This weekend, they will be open on Thursday from 1 to 4 p.m. (Gallery 50 and 42 West ARTS Co-Op only), Friday from 5 to 8 p.m., Saturday from 12 to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m.

Marjorie TresslerOil Painting Demonstration: 2-4 p.m. Gallery 50 – 50 West Main Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Curator and Director Marjorie Tressler will be conducting an oil painting demonstration featuring a large landscape.

Tressler teaches art locally and has conducted classes at the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts, where her portraits were featured in a solo show in 1993. She is a former student of the Schuler School of Fine Arts and has studied with several nationally known and prominent local artists over the last 35 years.

Art of the Night Reception and Stargazing: 5-8 p.m. 42 West ARTS Co-Op & Gallery – 42 West Main Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268.  42 West ARTS Co-Op & Gallery will be holding a reception to open their two-week astrophotography and astronomical art exhibition. Weather permitting; telescopes will be available on the sidewalk to view AstrophotographyJupiter and other visible astronomical images.  The exhibition will include unique astronomy inspired art and astrophotography by members of both groups. April 8, 2016 – Wine Down Friday: 5:30-8 p.m. Gallery 50
– 50 West Main Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Ritma Cordia will be performing their unique brand of folk, celtic, and light classical music. Wine and light refreshments will be available.

Ritma CordiaRitma Cordia is comprised of Marlin Barnes on the marimba and Jane Peatling on the cello. Barnes has performed with the Hagerstown Municipal Band, the Maryland Symphony Orchestra, and the Shippensburg Festival Orchestra. Peatling plays with the Mercersburg Area Community Chorus and Orchestra and several chamber groups. Both are faculty members at Cumberland Valley School of Music.

Portrait Painting Demonstration: 1-3 p.m. 42 West ARDonna BingamanPortraintTS Co-Op & Gallery – 42 West Main Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Gallery co-owner Donna Bingaman will be demonstrating the art of portrait painting. For more information, visit the co-op website at www.42westarts.com or call 717-762-8394.

A graduate of the Washington School of Arts, Bingaman is a juried member of the Oil Painters of America and has won several awards for her work. Her portraits are currently featured in the Chambersburg Court House and Annex as well as in private collections.

Jason KablerSunday, April 10, 2016 – 2-4 p.m. Gallery 50 – Visit Gallery 50 to hear Nashville recording artist Jason Kabler. Originally from Greencastle, PA, Kabler now lives in Nashville and has released multiple albums with an independent record label. He is now the head of the Hendersonville, TN chapter of Global Songwriters Connection. GSC is an organization that helps songwriters become more successful through education, support, and networking. Jason is currently writing songs for his ninth album which he hopes to have recorded for release this year. To see Jason’s touring schedule, visit his website.

’s (50 West Main Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268) newest window installation is “All About Color,” featuring Chambersburg contemporary artist Marti Yeager. Artwork by local artists Donna Mason, Carol Miller, and Liz Hurley is also on display. Continuing by popular demand, “Fin, Feathers, and Fur” featuring artists Carol Wilks and Beth De’ Loiselle will continue to be featured in the main gallery with new work being added.
