Waynesboro, PA: Destination ARTS! activities continue in Waynesboro, PA with art exhibits and special events scheduled at Gallery 50, 42 West ARTS Co-Op, Through the Lens & Beyond, and the Ceramic Arts Center of Waynesboro. The galleries feature oil paintings, watercolors, pottery, sculptures, jewelry, photographs, furniture, and more.  This weekend, they will be open on Thursday from 1 to 4 p.m. (Gallery 50 and 42 West ARTS Co-Op only), Friday from 5 to 8 p.m., Saturday from 12 to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m.

Thursday, June 2, 2016 – NEW EVENT! -Oil and Acrylic Art Classes: 9-11:30 a.m. Gallery 50 – 50 West Main Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Join Gallery 50 Curator and local artist Marjorie Tressler for a painting class every Thursday morning. The class is for individuals of all ability levels and wMarjorieInWindowill cover both oil and acrylic painting techniques. Students will receive individual attention in a relaxed environment from an award-winning local artist and will be encouraged to work on their preferred subject matter. Thursday, June 2, 2016 – NEW EVENT! – Gallery Talks: 2-4 p.m. Gallery 50 – 50 West Main Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Curator and Director Marjorie Tressler will be starting a new series of gallery talks in Gallery 50 every Thursday. Each week will feature a discussion on the various regional and local artists featured in Gallery 50, including information on their background, latest works, and art genre. Tressler teaches art locally and has conducted classes at the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts, where her portraits were featured in a solo show in 1993. She is a former student of the Schuler School of Fine Arts and has studied with several nationally known and prominent local artists over the last 35 years. Tressler has been Gallery 50’s lead curator and director since 2013.

Joel Newman and Dennis Mickley are both strong musicians and performers individually, each with an impressive resume. Together, they are a dynamic acoustic combination; stylistically covering a wide of music in their playlist. You won’t want to miss this entertaining and quirky combo. Saturday, June 4, 2016 – Zentangle Art Demonstration: 1-3 p.m. 42 West ARTS Co-Op & Laura Lewis ShindleGallery – 42 West Main Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Zentangle is the method of creating beautiful images from repetitive and structured patterns that is said to increase focus and creativity. Along with Zentangle art, Shindle is an accomplished painter, printmaker, and teacher with a studio in Greencastle, PA. She studied art at the Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, FL and has studied with many tutors.

Wednesday, June 8, 2016 – FREE Oil Painting Classes: 12-3 p.m. 42 West ARTS Co-Op & Gallery – 42 West Main Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Donna Bingaman will be offering free Donna Bingaman 5 400painting classes every Wednesday in June starting June 8. Students of all ability levels will learn how to paint in oil or acrylic, using color, values, and composition. Register at 42 West ARTS Co-Op or call 717-762-8394.

A graduate of the Washington School of Arts, Bingaman is a juried member of the Oil Painters of America and has won several awards for her work. In 2002, she was featured in a solo show at the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts in Hagerstown, MD. Her portraits are currently displayed in the Chambersburg Court House and Annex as well as in private collections.

Monday, June 13, 2016 – NEW! – Artists’ Connection Group: 6:30-8:30 p.m. Gallery 50 – ArtistConvergence50 West Main Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Starting Monday, June 13, all artists and artisans are invited to join a new monthly discussion group aimed to create connections with one another. The group will provide a fun and convenient social opportunity for anyone wanting to share ideas, art techniques, upcoming regional show dates, receive and provide mentoring, and inspire one another. Participants are encouraged to bring their latest art projects for those in attendance to view and enjoy. There are no fees or club/membership requirements. Gallery 50Gallery 50’s (50 West Main Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268) newest window installation is “All About Color,” featuring Chambersburg contemporary artist Marti Yeager. Artwork by local artists Donna Mason, Carol Miller, and Liz Hurley is also on display. Continuing by popular demand, “Fin, Feathers, and Fur” featuring artists Carol Wilks and Beth De’ Loiselle will continue to be featured in the main gallery with new work being added.


42WestARTSW42 West ARTS Co-Op (42 West Main Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268) presents their new show, “Living Water.” Artwork by co-op members will be on display and for sale that features each artist’s interpretation of the theme. Ceramic Arts Center of Waynesboro

The Ceramic Arts Center of Waynesboro (13 South Church

Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268) brings together area potters of all skill levels and ages offering classes, workshops, and pottery sales.
