Waynesboro, PA: Destination ARTS! activities continue in Waynesboro, PA with art exhibits and special events scheduled at Gallery 50, 42 West ARTS Co-Op, Through the Lens & Beyond, and the Ceramic Arts Center of Waynesboro. The galleries feature oil paintings, watercolors, pottery, sculptures, jewelry, photographs, furniture, and more.  This weekend, they will be open on Thursday from 1 to 4 p.m. (Gallery 50 and 42 West ARTS Co-Op only), Friday from 5 to 8 p.m., Saturday from 12 to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m.

Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2017 – Wildlife Slide Show and Oil Class Demonstration:

Donna BingamanPortraint12-3 p.m. 42 West ARTS Co-Op – 42 West Main Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Join Donna Bingaman at her weekly painting class every Wednesday while Patric Schlee provides ambient music designed to inspire! Each student benefits from her personal instruction and 40 years of experience. Each class is $15. Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2017 – Open Mic Nite:Cartoon Rock Singer

Brad Munn (4)6-9 p.m. Music Makers – 46 West Main Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Local artists are invited to participate in an open mic session facilitated by Brad Munn. Thursday, Jan. 26, 2017 – Oil Painting Demonstration:

Marjorie Tressler2-4 p.m. Gallery 50 – 50 West Main Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Curator and director Marjorie Tressler will be conducting an oil painting demonstration featuring a large landscape. For more information, call 717-655-2915.

Tressler teaches art locally and has conducted classes at the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts, where her portraits were featured in a solo show in 1993. She is a former student of the Schuler School of Fine Arts and has studied with several nationally known and prominent local artists over the last 35 years. Tressler has been Gallery 50’s lead curator and director since 2013.

 Thursday, Jan. 26, 2017 – Wine Glass Holder Workshop:wine-holder

7-9 p.m. $25 Ceramic Arts Studio of Waynesboro – 13 South Church Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Create a unique and one-of-a-kind Wine Glass holder complete with votive candle holders. Friday, Jan. 27, 2017 – Wine Down Friday:

5:30-8 p.m. Gallery 50 – 50 West Main Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Mountain Air will be Mountain Airperforming their mix of acousticcontemporary folk and pop country this Friday. Mountain Air is comprised of Bobbi Smith (guitar and vocals), Bob Murphy (upright bass), and Lisa Donohoe (mandolin and vocals). Smith and Donohoe began performing together as members of the Blue Ridge String Band and later, Back Porch Music in the 1990s. When they formed their own group, Mountain Air was born with Murphy later joining in 2009. The band performs at festivals, private concerts, wineries, special occasions, and art galleries.

Friday, Jan. 27, 2017 – Musical Demonstration:

Patric Schlee will entertain visitors with a variety of musical instruments, including the didgeridoo, flute, and drums. Wine and light refreshments will be served. Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017 – Portrait Painting Demonstration:

Donna Bingaman12-2 p.m. 42 West ARTS Co-Op & Gallery – 42 West Main Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Co-Op member, Donna Bingaman, will be demonstrating the art of portrait painting. For more information, contact the co-op at 717-762-8394.

A graduate of the Washington School of Arts, Bingaman is a juried member of the Oil Painters of America and has won several awards for her work. In 2002, she was featured in a solo show at the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts in Hagerstown, MD. Her portraits are currently displayed in the Chambersburg Court House and Annex as well as in private collections.

Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017 – Book Binding Demonstration:

1-3 p.m. 42 West ARTS Co-Op & Gallery – 42 West Main Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Pamela Soaring Raven Nelson will be demonstrating the basic techniques of book binding. Guests will be taken through the start-to-finish process, from using templates and waxed linen thread to preparing the text block and creating a solid case cover. Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017 – Children’s Pottery Workshop:

1-3 p.m. Ceramic Arts Studio of Waynesboro – 13 South Church Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Children, ages 6-13, can create a special Valentine box out of stoneware clay. Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2017 – Intro to Journaling: pamela-nelson

4-5:30 p.m. 42 West ARTS Co-Op – 42 West Main Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Pamela Soaring Raven will teach the final class in a four-week series on journaling that will explore the benefits of journaling on personal and mental health and cover techniques to overcome writer’s block. Gallery 50Gallery 50’s (50 West Main Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268) Artwork by local and regional artists is on display and for sale. The walls are filled with fine art paintings in beautiful frames. The tables are covered with outstanding examples of pottery, wood work, jewelry, sculpture, cards and even hand made soaps. Truly an experience for the senses – especially with the addition of music performances during “Wine Down Friday.”

The Ceramic Arts Center of Waynesboro (13 South Church
