Waynesboro, PA: Destination ARTS! activities continue in Waynesboro, PA with art exhibits and special events scheduled at Gallery 50, 42 West ARTS Co-Op, Through the Lens & Beyond, and the Ceramic Arts Center of Waynesboro. The galleries feature oil paintings, watercolors, pottery, sculptures, jewelry, photographs, furniture, and more.  This weekend, they will be open on Thursday from 1 to 4 p.m. (Gallery 50 and 42 West ARTS Co-Op only), Friday from 5 to 8 p.m., Saturday from 12 to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m.

Wednesday, Mar. 8, 2017 – Gourd Art Demo and Oil Class Demonstration:

12-3 p.m. 42 West ARTS Co-Op – 42 West Main Street, Waynesboro, PAdonna-bingaman 17268. Join Donna Bingaman at her weekly painting class every Wednesday while Patric Schlee provides ambient music designed to inspire! Each student benefits from her personal instruction and 40 years of experience. Each class is $15. Wednesday, March 8, 2017 – Open Mic Nite:


6 to 9 p.m. Music Makers – 46 West Main Street
, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Local artists are invited to participate in an open mic session facilitated by Brad Munn. All musical styles and spectators are welcome. A sound system, microphone, and electric stage piano will be provided. Contact 717-655-2915 for more information.

Thursday, Mar. 9, 2017 – Oil Painting Demonstration:

2-4 p.m. Gallery 50 – 50 West Main Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Curator and director Marjorie Tressler will be conducting her weekly demo covering a variety of subjects, including portraits, landscapes, and other genres. While there, be sure to view the gallery’s “Winter White” show featuring Steve Nevada’s impressionistic paintings as well as works by two of the region’s accomplished artists, Tom Renner and Liz Hurley. Tressler is a juried member of the Oil Painters of America for 18 years as well as a certified member of the Maryland Society of Portrait Painters for over 20 years. Her art teaching career started with the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts in 1994 after being featured in a solo portrait show in 1993.

Friday, Mar. 10, 2017 – Musical Demonstration:PatricFlute600

5:30-8 p.m. 42 West ARTS Co-Op & Gallery – 42 West Main Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268. To celebrate the holiday season, 42 West Arts Co-Op. Patric Schlee will entertain visitors with a variety of musical instruments, including the didgeridoo, flute, and drums. Visitors should also be sure to view pieces from the “Winter Wonderland Members Show.” Wine and light refreshments will be served. The instrumental group includes Pat McNamee (saxophone and clarinet), Woody Payne (keyboard), Josh Vaughn (bass), and Bill Sievers (drums). Wine and light refreshments will be available. Saturday, March 11, 2017 – Wheel Throwing Demonstration:


5-8 p.m. – Ceramic Arts Center of Waynesboro – 13 South Church Street

Saturday, March 11, 2017 – Paper Making Demo:


12-3 p.m. 42 West ARTS Co-Op – 42 West Main Street
, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Pamela Nelson will be having a paper-making demonstration for visitors to 42 West Arts Co-Op. For more information call 717-762-8394.

Nelson’s passion for fiber and texture began many years ago, at her mother’s knitting group. She draws a lot of inspiration from nature and by experimenting with different fibers through piecing quilts, spinning yarn, and working at her loom.

Sunday, March 12, 2017 – Songwriters Showcase:

2-5 p.m. Music Makers – 46 West Main Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Members of the Songwriters Forum will be performing original songs written as part of the group’s writing exercises. The showcase promises a variety of musical genres from the area’s finest performers and musicians. For more information, call 717-655-2915.

The Songwriters Forum meets on a monthly basis in Waynesboro. Prior to each meeting, a new title or subject is chosen and members are encouraged to write an original song, resulting in unique works that reflect each participant’s preferred musical genre and unique style.

Monday, March. 13, 2017 – Oil Painting Class: Marjorie Tressler

1-4 p.m. Gallery 50 – 50 West Main Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Marjorie Tressler invites artists of all ability levels to attend her weekly painting class in Gallery 50 that will cover both oil and acrylic mediums. Monday, March 13, 2017 – Artists’ Connection Group:

6:30-8:30 p.m. Gallery 50 – 50 West Main Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Join the Artists’ Connection for their next monthly meeting. The group is open to all artists and those passionate about the arts. The meeting serves as an opportunity to share ideas, discuss art and the newest techniques you have learned, mentor younger artists, and generally inspire one another. Marjorie Tressler will continue her demo from last month’s meeting by covering her oil painting process focusing on value and color. There are no cost or dues – just a way for artists to connect! Gallery 50Gallery 50’s (50 West Main Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268) Artwork by local and regional artists is on display and for sale. The walls are filled with fine art paintings in beautiful frames. The tables are covered with outstanding examples of pottery, wood work, jewelry, sculpture, cards and even hand made soaps. Truly an experience for the senses – especially with the addition of music performances during “Wine Down Friday.”

The Ceramic Arts Center of Waynesboro (13 South Church
