Waynesboro, PA: Destination ARTS! activities continue in Waynesboro, PA with art exhibits and special events scheduled at Gallery 50, 42 West ARTS Co-Op, Through the Lens & Beyond, and the Ceramic Arts Center of Waynesboro. The galleries feature oil paintings, watercolors, pottery, sculptures, jewelry, photographs, furniture, and more.  This weekend, they will be open on Thursday from 1 to 4 p.m. (Gallery 50 and 42 West ARTS Co-Op only), Friday from 5 to 8 p.m., Saturday from 12 to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m.

Monday, March. 13, 2017 – Oil Painting Class: Marjorie Tressler

1-4 p.m. Gallery 50 – 50 West Main Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Marjorie Tressler invites artists of all ability levels to attend her weekly painting class in Gallery 50 that will cover both oil and acrylic mediums. Monday, March 13, 2017 – Artists’ Connection Group:

6:30-8:30 p.m. Gallery 50 – 50 West Main Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Join the Artists’ Connection for their next monthly meeting. The group is open to all artists and those passionate about the arts. The meeting serves as an opportunity to share ideas, discuss art and the newest techniques you have learned, mentor younger artists, and generally inspire one another. Marjorie Tressler will continue her demo from last month’s meeting by covering her oil painting process focusing on value and color. There are no cost or dues – just a way for artists to connect! Wednesday, March 15, 2017 – Jam Session:


6-9 p.m. Music Makers – 46 West Main Street
, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Musicians of all musical genres and ability levels are invited to participate in a Jam Session facilitated by Joel Newman. All musical styles are welcome and a sound system, microphone, and electric stage piano will be provided. Thursday, Mar. 16, 2017 – Oil Painting Demonstration:

2-4 p.m. Gallery 50 – 50 West Main Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Curator and director Marjorie Tressler will be conducting her weekly demo covering a variety of subjects, including portraits, landscapes, and other genres. While there, be sure to view the gallery’s “Winter White” show featuring Steve Nevada’s impressionistic paintings as well as works by two of the region’s accomplished artists, Tom Renner and Liz Hurley. Friday, March 17, 2017 – Gallery Crawl:

5-8 p.m. The galleries of Destination ARTS! are holding a “Wearing of the Green” Gallery Crawl to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day! Visit each gallery wearing your green gear and eat a selection of green refreshments! Enjoy live music and original art while making sure to get your Passport stamped at each gallery and enter to win a drawing for a $50 gift certificate to Sapporo Japanese Restaurant. Passports can be picked up and dropped off at any of the four galleries. Friday, Mar. 17, 2017 – Musical Demonstration:PatricFlute600

5:30-8 p.m. 42 West ARTS Co-Op & Gallery – 42 West Main Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268. To celebrate the holiday season, 42 West Arts Co-Op. Patric Schlee will entertain visitors with a variety of musical instruments, including the didgeridoo, flute, and drums. Visitors should also be sure to view pieces from the “Winter Wonderland Members Show.” Wine and light refreshments will be served. Friday, March 17, 2017 – Live Music Friday:

5:30 to 8 p.m. Gallery 50 – 50 West Main Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Bellus will be performing acoustic-style classics like James Taylor; soulful sounds of Etta James and Eva Cassidy; country classics from Patsy Cline, and more current hits of Adele and Rhianna. The group is comprised of Jim Osik (guitar and vocals), Robin Osik (vocals), and Andy Wallace (keyboards and vocals). Wine and light refreshments will be available. Saturday, March 18, 2017 – Children’s Bunny Workshop:

1-3 p.m. $25 Ceramic Arts Center of Waynesboro – 13 South Church Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Children ages 5-13 will be given step-by-step instructions to create a ceramic bunny, using a combination of slab and sculpture. Students will have the opportunity to use various decorative applications and colorful glazes to make their bunny a one-of-a-kind masterpiece. To register, call 717-404-3190.

Saturday, March 18, 2017 – Bunnies and Beer Workshop:

4-6 p.m. $30 Ceramic Arts Center of Waynesboro – 13 South Church Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Making bunnies isn’t just for kids! Adults will receive guided instruction on creating two ceramic bunnies, using a combination of slab and sculpture. Each bunny is made from stoneware clay and the workshop fee includes all materials, glazes and firings. To register, call 717-404-3190.

Ongoing Shows

Gallery 50’s (50 West Main Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268) Artwork by local and regional artists is on display and for sale. The walls are filled with fine art paintings in beautiful frames. The tables are covered with outstanding examples of pottery, wood work, jewelry, sculpture, cards and even hand made soaps. Truly an experience for the senses – especially with the addition of music performances during “Wine Down Friday.”
