Waynesboro, PA: Destination ARTS! activities continue in Waynesboro, PA with art exhibits and special events scheduled at Gallery 50, 42 West ARTS Co-Op, Through the Lens & Beyond, and the Ceramic Arts Center of Waynesboro. The galleries feature oil paintings, watercolors, pottery, sculptures, jewelry, photographs, furniture, and more.  This weekend, they will be open on Thursday from 1 to 4 p.m. (Gallery 50 and 42 West ARTS Co-Op only), Friday from 5 to 8 p.m., Saturday from 12 to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m.

Monday, March. 27, 2017 – Oil Painting Class: Marjorie Tressler

1-4 p.m. Gallery 50 – 50 West Main Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Marjorie Tressler invites artists of all ability levels to attend her weekly painting class in Gallery 50 that will cover both oil and acrylic mediums. Monday, March 27, 2017 – Cabaret-Musical Theatre Forum:

6:30 p.m. Music Makers – 46 West Main Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Destination ARTS! is starting a new Cabaret-Musical Theater forum on the fourth Monday of each month. Enthusiasts of musical theater can receive feedback on performances and original material. The sessions will also be used to pull together songs three to four times a year in a collaborative performance showcase. This is an evolving initiative that will be shaped by those who attend and offers unique networking opportunities.  A piano and sound system will be available for use. Tuesday, March 28, 2017 – Bead Bowl Workshop:


7 to 9 p.m. $35 Ceramic Arts Center of Waynesboro – 13 South Church Street
, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Create your own large pottery serving bowl made from stoneware clay. No experience necessary as students will receive step-by-step instruction. Fee includes all materials, glazes, and firings. To register, call 717-404-3190.

Wednesday, March 29, 2017 – Wildlife Slide Show and Oil Painting Class:

12 to 3 p.m. 42 West ARTS Co-Op – 42 West Main Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Join Donna Bingaman at her weekly painting class every Wednesday while Patric Schlee provides ambient music designed to inspire! Each student benefits from her personal instruction and 40 years of experience. Each class is $15. Wednesday, March 29, 2017 – Jam Session:

6 to 9 p.m. Music Makers – 46 West Main Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Musicians of all musical genres and ability levels are invited to participate in a Jam Session facilitated by Joel Newman. All musical styles are welcome and a sound system, microphone, and electric stage piano will be provided. Thursday, March 30, 2017 – Needle Felting Class:

12 to 3 p.m. 42 West Main Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268, $33. Pamela Soaring Raven is accepting students (aged 13 and up) for her Needle Felting Class. Gallery 50 Curator, Marjorie Tressler, will be conducting her weekly demo covering a variety of subjects, including portraits, landscapes, and other genres. While there, enjoy our new window display “Down on the Farm” accompanied by new artwork featuring new artist Tina Stonestreet and frequent artists Steve Nevada and Tom Renner. Times and locations vary. Visit the galleries of Destination ARTS! to discover artwork “Eggs” that have been created and hidden by area artists in their preferred artistic medium. Pick up an entry form at any gallery and have it stamped at all four locations for a chance to win a basket of goodies. The winner will be announced at the Artists Connection on April 10, 2017. G@g featuring Gillian Austin (vocals, keyboard, and guitar) and Garrett Austin (vocals and keyboard) will be performing their unique interpretations of contemporary and standard songs. Saturday, April 1, 2017 – Portrait Painting Demonstration:

12 to 2 p.m. 42 West ARTS Co-Op – 42 West Main Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Co-Op member, Donna Bingaman, will be demonstrating the art of portrait painting. For more information, contact the co-op at 717-762-8394.

A graduate of the Washington School of Arts, Bingaman is a juried member of the Oil Painters of America and has won several awards for her work. In 2002, she was featured in a solo show at the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts in Hagerstown, MD. Her portraits are currently displayed in the Chambersburg Court House and Annex as well as in private collections.

Sunday, April 2, 2017 – Community Book Club:

1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Gallery 50 – 50 West Main Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268. All readers are invited to join the book club as they discuss “Being Mortal” by Atul Gawande. In the book, Dr. Gawande tackles how medicine can not only improve life but also the process of its ending. The club meets regularly on the first Sunday of each month. 6:30 p.m. Music Makers – 46 West Main Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Join members of the Songwriters’ Workshop for their monthly meeting as they share their latest efforts writing a song based on a color. For more information, contact Jonathan Ingels at [email protected].

Participants are encouraged to write a song, lyric, or instrumental piece that is inspired by that month’s theme. All genres are welcome and participants share their results, process, feedback with one another. Once a quarter, the group performs their songs for the public.

The tables are covered with outstanding examples of pottery, wood work, jewelry, sculpture, cards and even hand made soaps. Truly an experience for the senses – especially with the addition of music performances during “Wine Down Friday.”
