Waynesboro, PA: Destination ARTS! activities continue in Waynesboro, PA with art exhibits and special events scheduled at Gallery 50, 42 West ARTS Co-Op, Through the Lens & Beyond, and the Ceramic Arts Center of Waynesboro. The galleries feature oil paintings, watercolors, pottery, sculptures, jewelry, photographs, furniture, and more.  This weekend, they will be open on Thursday from 1 to 4 p.m. (Gallery 50 and 42 West ARTS Co-Op only), Friday from 5 to 8 p.m., Saturday from 12 to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m.

Monday, June 19, 2017 – Oil Painting Class:

1 to 4 p.m. Gallery 50 – 50 W. Main St., Waynesboro, PA 17268. Marjorie Tressler invites artists of all ability levels to attend her weekly painting class in Gallery 50 that will cover both oil and acrylic mediums. June 19-23, 2017 – Improvising Rock Guitar:


9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Music Makers – 46 W. Main St. 5 Sessions for $110
. Learn time-worn solid rock guitar playing techniques for students ages 8 and older. Led by Joel Newman, students will learn how to “shake those strings” to wring the most out of your rock scales, and in the process learn more about music. Wednesday, June 21, 2017 – Oil Painting Class:

12 to 3 p.m. 42 West ARTS Co-Op – 42 W. Main St., Waynesboro, PA 17268. Join Donna Bingaman at her weekly painting class every Wednesday while Patric Schlee provides ambient music designed to inspire! Each student benefits from her personal instruction and 40 years of experience. Each class is $15. Thursday, June 22, 2017 – Oil Painting Demonstration:

2 to 4 p.m. Gallery 50 – 50 W. Main St., Waynesboro, PA 17268. Gallery 50 Curator, Marjorie Tressler, will be conducting her weekly demo covering a variety of subjects, including portraits, landscapes, and other genres. While there, enjoy our new window display “Down on the Farm” accompanied by new artwork featuring new artist Tina Stonestreet and frequent artists Steve Nevada and Tom Renner. Thursday, June 22, 2017 – Drum Circle:

7 to 8 p.m. $12 Music Makers – 46 W. Main St., Waynesboro, PA 17268. Tresa Day will teach participants of all ages to learn basic rhythms, play along to favorite songs, sports jams, and even commercials. Drums and percussion instruments are supplied or you may bring your own. Children 5 and under are free with a paid participant. Friday, June 22, 2017 – Musical Demonstration:

5:30 to 8 p.m. 42 West ARTS Co-Op – 42 W. Main St., Waynesboro, PA 17268. Patric Schlee will entertain visitors with a variety of musical instruments, including the didgeridoo, flute, and drums. While there, be sure to look for the quilted and hand-crafted creations by guest artist Andrea Finch. Wine and light refreshments will be served. Saturday, June 23, 2017 – Corks and Clay Workshop:


6 to 8 p.m. $30 Ceramic Arts Studio of Waynesboro – 13 S. Church St.
, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Add charm to your picnic table with a set of handmade salt and pepper shakers. Shakers will be made from a combination of slab and sculpture and decorated using various decorative applications. Fee includes instruction, materials, glaze, and firings. Saturday, June 23, 2017 – Live Music Friday:

5:30 to 8 p.m. Gallery 50 – 50 W. Main St., Waynesboro, PA 17268. The popular Irish music of Across the Pond is coming back to Music Makers! The band features Michael Morrison (guitar, mandolin, flue and vocals), Chuck Krepley (fiddle, banjo, vocals), and Dan Diviney (whistles, bodhran, vocals). Wine and light refreshments will be served. Formed in late 2010, Across the Pond was named one of the Top 20 Celtic folk bands world-wide by Marc Gunn in 2014 and is considered the most booked Celtic band in Central PA. All members of the trio are passionate about their traditional roots but say their music is also delivered with a modern edge, with a repertoire ranging from hauntingly slow aires to high energy jig and reels, love ballads, and contemporary songs. Sunday, June 24, 2017 – Watercolor Demonstration:

1 to 3 p.m. 42 West ARTS Co-Op – 42 W. Main St., Waynesboro, PA 17268. Janette Koons will be demonstrating how she creates watercolor paintings for visitors to the co-op at 717-762-8394.

Koons relies on wildlife and rural life on the farm as inspirations for her paintings. Watercolor is her preferred medium as it allows her the pure spontaneity and freshness that she strives for in her work. She is a member of the Waynesboro Studio Art Club, Franklin County Art Alliance, and the Valley Art Association.

Sunday, June 24, 2017 – Painting Silk Scarves Demonstration:


1 to 3 p.m. 42 West ARTS Co-Op – 42 W. Main St.

June 26-30, 2017 – Singer-Songwriter Camp:


9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Music Makers – 46 W. Main St.
5 Sessions for $110. This camp led by Joel Newman will help students ages 8 and older access their creativity and compose original songs. Participants should already have a background in playing and/or singing, and should be looking to learn or improve the craft of songwriting. This camp includes a crash course in how music and poetry are pushed together to write a “pop” song. Register by calling the Cumberland Valley School of Music at 717-261-1220, opt. 1.

The tables are covered with outstanding examples of pottery, wood work, jewelry, sculpture, cards and even hand made soaps. Truly an experience for the senses – especially with the addition of music performances during “Wine Down Friday.”

Ceramic Arts Center of Waynesboro

The Ceramic Arts Center of Waynesboro (13 South Church

Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268) brings together area potters of all skill levels and ages offering classes, workshops, and pottery sales.
