Destination ARTS! Performances and Events for Nov. 20 – 27, 2017

Waynesboro, PA: Destination ARTS! activities continue in Waynesboro, PA with art exhibits and special events scheduled at Gallery 50, 42 West ARTS Co-Op, Gallery 35 East, and the Ceramic Arts Center of Waynesboro. The galleries feature oil paintings, watercolors, pottery, sculptures, jewelry, photographs, furniture, and more.  This weekend, they will be open on Thursday from 1 to 4 p.m. (Gallery 50 and 42 West ARTS Co-Op only), Friday from 5 to 8 p.m., Saturday from 12 to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m.

Monday, November 20, 2017 – Oil & Acrylic Painting Class:

1 to 4 p.m. Gallery 50 – 50 W. Main St., Waynesboro, PA 17268. Marjorie Tressler invites artists of all ability levels to attend her weekly painting class in Gallery 50 that will cover both oil and acrylic mediums. Marjorie is a classically trained artist who teaches drawing, color theory and composition in the style of the old masters. These fun and relaxed sessions are $65 for 6 classes. Wednesday, November 22, 2017 – Gourd Art Demo and Oil Painting Class:

12 to 3 p.m. 42 West ARTS Co-Op – 42 W. Main St., Waynesboro, PA 17268. Join Donna Bingaman at her weekly painting class every Wednesday while Patric Schlee provides ambient music designed to inspire! Each student benefits from her personal instruction and 40 years of experience. Each class is $15. Gallery visitors can watch Denny Bingaman sculpt, burn and dye gourds. Friday, November 24, 2017 – Musical Demonstration:


5:30 to 8 p.m. 42 West ARTS Co-Op – 42 W. Main St.
, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Patric Schlee will entertain visitors with a variety of musical instruments, including the didgeridoo, flute, and drums. Friday, November 24, 2017 – Live Music Friday:

5:30 to 8 p.m. Music Makers – 46 W. Main St., Waynesboro, PA 17268.

Nick Andrew Staver will be bringing a new voice to the blues this Friday. His music is a pleasing blend of blue and roots music to support his iconic vocal style. Wine and light refreshments will be served. For more information, call 717-655-2500.

From small corner bars to large auditoriums, Staver has gained the experience and knowledge of a professional musician while maintaining the mindset to never get ahead of himself. Always reflecting upon his past and paying respects to his idols, both past and present, his music moves within him and resonates with his audiences. Each performance is an intimate opportunity to capture a desired dose of rhythm and blues mixed into modern songwriting storylines.

, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Illustrator and muralist Nigel Sussman will be on the East coast to sign and talk about his book “Alphabet Compendium: An Illustrated A-Z of Things.” The book features hand-rendered illustrations with a seek-and-find features. Saturday, November 25, 2017 – Teen & Up Vintage Tree:


2 to 4 p.m. $30 Ceramic Arts Studio of Waynesboro – 13 S. Church St.

Saturday, November 25, 2017 – Potters’ Wheel Demonstration:

1 to 3 p.m. 42 West Arts Co-Op – 42 W. Main St., Waynesboro, PA 17268. Rod Meyer and his wife, Karri Benedict, will be working in clay and demonstrating how they create stoneware and decorative Raku pottery. For more information call 717-762-8394.

Rod Meyer and Karri Benedict have been making pottery together for more than 37 years. Their work shows a great respect for fine craftsmanship and their sense of design is strongly influenced by function. They produce a full line of pieces for the home that are lead-free and dishwasher, microwave, and oven safe. They are both juried members of the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen and own and operate Willow Creek Pottery.

Gallery 50Gallery 50’s (50 West Main Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268) Artwork by local and regional artists is on display and for sale. The walls are filled with fine art paintings in beautiful frames. The tables are covered with outstanding examples of pottery, wood work, jewelry, sculpture, cards and even hand made soaps. Truly an experience for the senses – especially with the addition of music performances during “Wine Down Friday.”

The Ceramic Arts Center of Waynesboro (13 South Church

Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268) brings together area potters of all skill levels and ages offering classes, workshops, and pottery sales.
