Destination ARTS! ended in its current form on October 27, but Waynesboro, PA  is continuing to move forward towards its goal of becoming  an arts destination and an arts community.  One of the first major steps will begin on November 8, when a new arts co-op will open at 42 West Main Street.

“42 West Arts Co-op” will provide a store for fine arts and artisans from the area to market their unique works.  Located in a beautiful 1,700 square foot building, it will be filled with a diverse collection of art from its 17 members, giving the visitors an opportunity to purchase high quality arts and crafts of distinction.  It will also provide a venue for the community to connect to artists and learn about the arts.

“We are very excited to introduce this unique gallery,” notes Donna Bingaman, who along with her husband Denny volunteered to spearhead the formation of the co-op.  “It will be filled with music from co-op members, new shows monthly from the Cumberland Valley Craftmens Guild, fine art artist of the month shows, art classes, weaving loom demo’s, and artisans teaching and demonstrating their fine art and crafts.”

The co-op will feature oil paintings, watercolors, fine art photographs, wind chimes, musical instruments, fine craft furniture, blown glass, pottery, tile wall hangings, weavings, bronze sculpture, wood carvings, and more.

The grand opening reception for artists and public will be Friday, November 8 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm.  The co-op members invite you to come visit the new gallery and meet the artists.  Music will be provided by the eclectic “Earthsong Ensemble” and refreshments will be served.
