The band features Michael Morrison (guitar, mandolin, flue and vocals), Chuck Krepley (fiddle, banjo, vocals), and Dan Diviney (whistles, bodhran, vocals). Youngblood is a photography teacher at Barbara Ingram School for the Arts in Hagerstown as an Artist in Residence since the opening of the school in 2009. Mark attended Hagerstown Community College and then Shepherd University. He holds memberships in several professional photography organizations, including being named commercial and portrait photographer of the year in the state of Maryland. Youngblood has owned and operated Youngblood Studios for the past 30 years.

5 to 7 p.m. Alexander Hamilton Memorial Free Library – 45 E. Main St., Waynesboro, PA 17268. Writers of all genres are welcome to join the monthly Writers Forum meeting on the second-floor classroom of the library. Writers are asked to contribute poetry, either your own or a favorite poem. The Writers Forum meets on the first Wednesday of each month to share contributions that usually pertain to a selected subject. Times Vary – Nicodemus Center for Ceramic Studies – Room 008, General Studies Building, 1 Campus Dr., Mont Alto, PA 17237. NCCS will hold their 14th annual holiday pottery sale on November 30 from 1 to 8 p.m., December 1, 2, and 4 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The sale includes a variety of items hand-made by guild members such as bowls, mugs, cups, vases, and more. In addition to the pottery sale, the 2017 John Bell reproduction pot stand will be available for purchase.

Friday, December 1, 2017 – Open House and Anniversary Sale:


5 to 8 p.m. Gallery 35 East – 35 E. Main St.
, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Celebrate with the artists of Gallery 35 East as they observe their second anniversary with a special gallery-wide sale and reception. While there, view the Civil War Reenactment Exhibit which will end this weekend. Wine and light refreshments will be served.

Friday, December 1, 2017 – Christmas Season Party:

Enjoy folk and blues music by Earthsong Ensemble featuring Tom McFarland (guitar/vocals), Patric Schlee (flute/congas/didgeridoo), and a special guest on the keyboard. William A. Larsh will have his new book “The FBI – They Eat Their Young” which recaps his career as an agent. Sara Knox will have her two hand-drawn adult coloring books “Lovely Harvest” and Lovely Earth.” Lastly, Kimberly S. 2 to 3:30 p.m. Music Makers – 46 W. Main St., Waynesboro, PA 17268. Popular local band Mountain Air invites the public to a special reception to celebrate their new Christmas album, “Winter.” Featuring Bobbi Smith (guitar and vocals), Bob Murphy (upright bass), and Lisa Donohoe (mandolin and vocals), the group will be performing Christmas favorites, including a special version of the classic “White Christmas” by Irving Berlin with alternative lyrics by Louanna Dennis Sturm. Sturm received written permission from Berlin in 1942 for her choir to perform the edited version. 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Music Makers – 46 West Main Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Join members of the Songwriters’ Workshop for their monthly meeting as they share their latest efforts writing a song based on the prompt of ‘Burn.’ For more information, contact Jonathan Ingels at [email protected].

Participants are encouraged to write a song, lyric, or instrumental piece that is inspired by that month’s theme. All genres are welcome and participants share their results, process, feedback with one another. Once a quarter, the group performs their songs for the public.

Rod Meyer and Karri Benedict have been making pottery together for more than 37 years. Their work shows a great respect for fine craftsmanship and their sense of design is strongly influenced by function. They produce a full line of pieces for the home that are lead-free and dishwasher, microwave, and oven safe. They are both juried members of the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen and own and operate Willow Creek Pottery.

Mountain Air will be performing their mix of acoustic contemporary folk and pop country this Friday. Wine and light refreshments will be served. For more information, call 717-655-2500.

Mountain Air is comprised of Bobbi Smith (guitar and vocals), Bob Murphy (upright bass), and Lisa Donohoe (mandolin and vocals). Smith and Donohoe began performing together as members of the Blue Ridge String Band and later, Back Porch Music in the 1990s. When they formed their own group, Mountain Air was born with Murphy later joining in 2009. The band performs at festivals, private concerts, wineries, special occasions, and art galleries.

A graduate of the Washington School of Arts, Bingaman is a juried member of the Oil Painters of America and has won several awards for her work. In 2002, she was featured in a solo show at the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts in Hagerstown, MD. Her portraits are currently displayed in the Chambersburg Court House and Annex as well as in private collections.

5 to 7 p.m. Alexander Hamilton Memorial Free Library – 45 E. Main St., Waynesboro, PA 17268. Writers of all genres are welcome to join the monthly Writers Forum meeting on the second-floor classroom of the library. Writers are asked to contribute poetry, either your own or a favorite poem. The Writers Forum meets on the first Wednesday of each month to share contributions that usually pertain to a selected subject. In 1964, seventeen-year-old Peggy Bradnick was abducted and held hostage for a week in Shade Valley that resulted in the largest manhunt in Pennsylvania history up to that time. Gallery 50 has invited Ken Peiffer, author of “Trail of Terror” and Peggy Bradnick, co-author of “The Voice in the Mountains” with Chris Aarmagost for a meet-and-greet and book signings of their books that cover the terrifying events. 12 to 3 p.m. 42 West ARTS Co-Op – 42 W. Main St., Waynesboro, PA 17268. Kay Ackerman will be in the gallery presenting a demonstration on the ancient art of beading. Ackerman uses shaped beads made in the Czech Republic as well as mixed media including painted metal filigree and glass tiles done in nail polish. Ackerman is an associate professor of History at Wilson College and has been beading for 25 years. Her work has been shown at the Bogigian Gallery and the Chambersburg Council for the Arts. The galleries feature oil paintings, watercolors, pottery, sculptures, jewelry, photographs, furniture, and more. Most art is available for sale and there is no charge for admission to the galleries.

This weekend, galleries will be open –

Thursday from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m (Gallery 50 and 42 West ARTS Co-op only)
Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Saturday from 12:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
