Waynesboro, PA: Destination ARTS! activities continue in Waynesboro, PA with art exhibits and special events scheduled at Gallery 50, 42 West ARTS Co-Op, Through the Lens & Beyond, and the Ceramic Arts Center of Waynesboro. The galleries feature oil paintings, watercolors, pottery, sculptures, jewelry, photographs, furniture, and more.  This weekend, they will be open on Thursday from 1 to 4 p.m. (Gallery 50 and 42 West ARTS Co-Op only), Friday from 5 to 8 p.m., Saturday from 12 to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m.

Wednesday, May 17, 2017 – Oil Painting Class:

12 to 3 p.m. 42 West ARTS Co-Op – 42 W. Main St., Waynesboro, PA 17268. Join Donna Bingaman at her weekly painting class every Wednesday while Patric Schlee provides ambient music designed to inspire! Each student benefits from her personal instruction and 40 years of experience. Each class is $15. Gallery visitors can watch Denny Bingaman as he creates sculptures from clay. Wednesday, May 17, 2017 – Open Mic Nite:

6 to 9 p.m. Music Makers – 46 W. Main St., Waynesboro, PA 17268. Local artists are invited to participate in an open mic session facilitated by Brad Munn. All musical styles and spectators are welcome. A sound system, microphone, and electric stage piano will be provided. Contact 717-655-2915 for more information.

Thursday, May 18, 2017 – Oil Painting Demonstration:

2 to 4 p.m. Gallery 50 – 50 W. Main St., Waynesboro, PA 17268. Gallery 50 Curator, Marjorie Tressler, will be conducting her weekly demo covering a variety of subjects, including portraits, landscapes, and other genres. While there, enjoy our new window display “Down on the Farm” accompanied by new artwork featuring new artist Tina Stonestreet and frequent artists Steve Nevada and Tom Renner. Thursday, May 18, 2017 Contemporary Choir:

7 to 8 p.m. Music Makers – 46 W. Main St., Waynesboro, PA 17268. Join members of our community choir which open to singers of all skill levels who are at least 14 years of age on Thursdays at Music Makers. Friday May 19, 2017 – New Artists Reception:

5 to 8 p.m. Gallery 50 – 50 W. Main St., Waynesboro, PA 17268. Gallery 50 is hosting a reception to honor our newest artists and potters. Featured artists are Susan McGinley, Leona Kronstaft, Sharon Williams, Glenda McCullah, and Cindi Larsh. Also new is pottery from the Ceramic Arts Center featuring work by some of their best potters. Friday, May 19, 2017 – Live Music Friday:

5:30 to 8 p.m. Music Makers – 46 W. Main St., Waynesboro, PA 17268. G@g featuring Gillian Austin (vocals, keyboard, and guitar) and Garrett Austin (vocals and keyboard) will be performing their unique interpretations of contemporary and standard songs. Members of the Contemporary Community Choir led by Gillian Austin will end their season by performing two selections. Saturday, May 20, 2017 – Portrait Painting Demonstration:

12 to 2 p.m. 42 West ARTS Co-Op – 42 W. Main St., Waynesboro, PA 17268. Co-Op member, Donna Bingaman, will be demonstrating the art of portrait painting. For more information, contact the co-op at 717-762-8394.

A graduate of the Washington School of Arts, Bingaman is a juried member of the Oil Painters of America and has won several awards for her work. In 2002, she was featured in a solo show at the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts in Hagerstown, MD. Her portraits are currently displayed in the Chambersburg Court House and Annex as well as in private collections.

Saturday, May 20, 2017 – Wood Burning Demonstration:

1-3 p.m. 42 West ARTS Co-Op & Gallery – 42 West Main Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Co-Op member, Ed Beard, will be demonstrating wood burning designs of eagles and feathers this Saturday. For more information, contact the co-op at 717-762-8394.

Beard has been a woodworker for the past 50 years and has exhibited in art shows and galleries since 1966. He is a graduate of St. John’s College and the University of Florida and is a member of the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsman, the Lincoln Highway Heritage Group, and the Woodworking Advisory Board.

Saturday, May 20, 2017 – Children’s Workshop:

1 to 3 p.m. $25 Ceramic Arts Studio of Waynesboro – 13 S. Church St., Waynesboro, PA 17268.

Monday, May 22, 2017 – Oil Painting Class:

1 to 4 p.m. Gallery 50 – 50 W. Main St, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Marjorie Tressler invites artists of all ability levels to attend her weekly painting class in Gallery 50 that will cover both oil and acrylic mediums. The tables are covered with outstanding examples of pottery, wood work, jewelry, sculpture, cards and even hand made soaps. Truly an experience for the senses – especially with the addition of music performances during “Wine Down Friday.”

Ceramic Arts Center of Waynesboro

The Ceramic Arts Center of Waynesboro (13 South Church

Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268) brings together area potters of all skill levels and ages offering classes, workshops, and pottery sales.
