In 2013, the Arts Alliance of Greater Waynesboro (AAGW) launched Destination ARTS! Conceived as a community revitalization project, a dedicated group of volunteers transformed seven vacant commercial buildings into high quality, curated art galleries. In addition, eight storefront windows were filled with art. The Destination ARTS! initiative brought live music, children’s activities, and artist demonstrations to Main Street every weekend. What started out as an ambitious 15-week summer adventure has now become five permanent galleries in downtown Waynesboro.

Between the five galleries, visitors can experience a wide variety of activities, educational programs, and musical performances. The galleries include Gallery 50 (still operated by AAGW volunteers), 42 West ARTS Co-Op & Gallery, Gallery 35 East, Walnut Street Studios, and the Ceramics Arts Center of Waynesboro. You will find an extensive array of hand-crafted items and fine art, including jewelry, photography, fiber arts, and pottery for purchase.
