This week Destination ARTS! is sooooo BIG that we could not hide it. So we decided to just put it out there in the street. Back by popular demand, STREET MUSIC ! Six full galleries of ARTS and Entertaiment just for your enjoyment. Come Downtown and see what the fuss is about. Don’t forget about “Wine Down Friday!”
This special “Destination ARTS!” weekend marks the beginning of our second full year of operation. Join us for the launch of another 15-week run of artwork, live music and a variety of special events in downtown Waynesboro. Starting on Friday night, six galleries will be open each week from Thursday through Sunday, with entertainment and other activities planned inside and out on the sidewalks.

Thursday, June 26
On Thursday, fine artist Marjorie Tressler will offer her latest in a series of live painting demonstrations from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Gallery 50.
Friday, June 27
Gallery 50 opens an all new show!
A Grand Opening Reception for the launch of this summer’s “Destination ARTS!” initiative is scheduled to begin at 5:00 inside Gallery 50 on Friday evening. Several special guests and many members of the community are expected to be in attendance. Wine and light refreshments will be served inside all of the galleries.
More than 80 new pieces of artwork have been installed in Gallery 50 and will be on display, including two shows in each of the gallery’s windows. “A Sixties Kinda’ Happening” features the work of Hilary Papuchis, Donna Mason and a chair created by Cheryl Kipe Yeagy. “Shades of Summer” contains projects created by Harrisburg-based artists Lynne Yancha, Mary l. Davis, Carolind Parson, Janet Bricker and Patricia Lambert Marshall.
Gallery 20 East
The “Prism” exhibit launches inside of Gallery 20 East this weekend. The walls will be filled with the abstract art of Colleen Clapp and Ed Ramsburg, who are both well known out of Frederick County, Md.
There will also be a beer tasting in Gallery 20 East on Friday evening featuring Roy Pitz Brewing Company of Chambersburg.
42 West ARTS Co-Op
A new exhibit is also set to open at 42 West ARTS Co-Op on Friday evening. Starting at 5:00, guests of the gallery can experience the abstract “Interpretation Imagination.” An reception will be held Friday evening to celebrate the new season, new show and give the public a chance to meet the artists whose work is featured in the Co-Op. Friday’s reception will have wine, beer and snacks. Musical entertainment will be The Little Sisters Band providing live bluegrass, gospel and folk music. The “Miniature and Small Works” exhibit is also on display.
The Ceramic Arts Center of Waynesboro, 13 South Church Street
Come to The Ceramic Arts Center of Waynesboro and see the newly decorated facility and equipment. There are many beautiful pieces of handmade pottery for sale and inspection. Check the schedule of classes and inquire about membership.

The Contemporary School of the Arts & Gallery
Meanwhile, over at The Contemporary School of the Arts & Gallery, this weekend marks a final opportunity to see the oil paintings of Donna Bingaman and the wildlife photography of her husband, Denny, on display at The Contemporary School of the Arts & Gallery.

All of the galleries feature oil paintings, watercolors, pottery, fiber arts, sculpture, photographs, furniture, prints and much more. They are open each weekend on Thursdays from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., Fridays from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Saturdays from 12:00 to 6:00 p.m. and Sundays from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
