Gallery 20 East presents:
Gallery 20 East presents a wonderfully whimsical and witty art exhibit to delight adults and children of all ages. Artist Sally Truitt of Lyons, Colorado reveals the secret life of cows and owls, and the dreams of friendly monsters. Eddie Keach Filemyr finds an exuberant jungle in our backyards, with her vivid and passionate paintings of flowers and vegetables. Michalina Eisenberg creates a whole new world with her charming hand made cloth dolls, characters in a comedy of imagination.
Sally Truitt has been an artist since she discovered melting crayons on a hot radiator with her sisters. She is drawn to weathered, discarded media found in or around nature (wood, rust, parts of things, tools) as well as acrylic on canvas, transfers and prints. She attended Wooster College and has exhibited her art in Los Angeles, Washington DC, Telluride and Lyons Colorado. A professional bluegrass musician, Sally can be seen on a recent TED Talk.
Eddie Keach Filemyr works in acrylics, ceramics, jewelry design and landscape design. She studied art at Antioch University (MFA) and Skidmore College (BS in design) and currently teaches art at Delaware Technical College. She has recently received awards for her art from Millsboro Art League, Delaware Technical College and Mispillin Art Gallery. Eddie Leach Filmyr lives in Milton, Delaware and lived in Leitersburg Md for fifteen years.
Michalina Eisenberg has always made dolls, starting out with the simple rag doll design. She is now working with cloth and mixed media to create the art pieces you see today. Michalina is a painter, quilter, wire sculptor, faux finisher, art teacher and fabric artist, but creating her unique and droll dolls gives her the most pleasure. Originally from Connecticut, she attended Paier College of Art with a degree in Advertising and Graphic Design and did post graduate work at the Corcoran College of Art. Michalina currently resides in Frederick, Maryland where she works on her creations at home in her new studio.
