5:30 – 5:50 pm & 7:15 – 7:35 pm – Because the “S” in “CVSM” stands for “school,” young children coming to Waynesboro on Friday night will also have the opportunity to learn more about music. Heather McEndree will lead Musikgarten Mini-Classes at 32 West Main Street from 5:30 to 5:50 p.m. and from 7:15 to 7:35 p.m. Both classes are free and intended for newborns and children through the age of 5.
The internationally recognized early childhood education class includes dancing, singing, imaginative play, instrument playing and plenty of movement. McEndree is a licensed Musikgarten Instructor with a Masters Degree in Music Education from Penn State.
Organizers of the evening’s events are excited about the opportunity for increased exposure.
“Cumberland Valley School of Music is one of the jewels of Franklin County, serving more than 600 students of all ages every year, taught by a faculty of about 55 highly qualified teachers,” said Andrew Sussman, creator of the “Destination ARTS!” initiative. “One would have to travel to the Peabody Prep in Baltimore or the Levine School in Washington, D.C. to find anything comparable, but with a CVSM studio on Main Street, we have an outlet for high quality music education right here in Waynesboro. This night will give people a great chance to hear exceptional music covering a wide range of styles while also learning more about the school.”
