Waynesboro, PA: Destination ARTS! activities continue in Waynesboro, PA with art exhibits and special events scheduled at Gallery 50, 42 West ARTS Co-Op, Through the Lens & Beyond, and the Ceramic Arts Center of Waynesboro. The galleries feature oil paintings, watercolors, pottery, sculptures, jewelry, photographs, furniture, and more. This weekend, they will be open on Thursday from 1 to 4 p.m. (Gallery 50 and 42 West ARTS Co-Op only), Friday from 5 to 8 p.m., Saturday from 12 to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m.

Thursday, July 14, 2016 – Gallery Talks: 2 p.m. Gallery 50 – 50 West Main Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Curator and Director Marjorie Tressler will be starting a new series of gallery talks in Gallery 50 every Thursday. Each week will feature a discussion on the various regional and local artists featured in Gallery 50, including information on their background, latest works, and art genre. Tressler teaches art locally and has conducted classes at the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts, where her portraits were featured in a solo show in 1993. She is a former student of the Schuler School of Fine Arts and has studied with several nationally known and prominent local artists over the last 35 years. Tressler has been Gallery 50’s lead curator and director since 2013.
Friday, July 15, 2016 – Wine Down Friday: 5:30-8 p.m. Gallery 50 – 50 West Main Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Destination ARTS! will sponsor a musical performance for the general public for free in Gallery 50 each Friday. Wine and light refreshments will be available.
Singer-songwriter Brad Munn will bring his guitar and fiddle to Gallery 50 this Friday, performing a variety of original songs and covers from bluegrass, country, and classic rock. Wine and light refreshments will be available. For more information, call 717-655-2915.

Beard has been a woodworker for the past 50 year and has exhibited in art shows and galleries since 1966. By combining yarns of different colors and textures, Bead is able to create unique and beautiful pieces using an “old-fashioned” loom. After the weaving, each panel is washed before being finished by hand. Bear has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Florida and is a juried member of the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen and the Cumberland Valley Craft Guild.
