Waynesboro, PA: Destination ARTS! activities continue in Waynesboro, PA with art exhibits and special events scheduled at Gallery 50, 42 West ARTS Co-Op, Through the Lens & Beyond, and the Ceramic Arts Center of Waynesboro. The galleries feature oil paintings, watercolors, pottery, sculptures, jewelry, photographs, furniture, and more. This weekend, they will be open on Thursday from 1 to 4 p.m. (Gallery 50 and 42 West ARTS Co-Op only), Friday from 5 to 8 p.m., Saturday from 12 to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m.

Wednesday, June 28, 2017 – Oil Painting Class:
12 to 3 p.m. 42 West ARTS Co-Op – 42 W. Main St., Waynesboro, PA 17268. Join Donna Bingaman at her weekly painting class every Wednesday while Patric Schlee provides ambient music designed to inspire! Each student benefits from her personal instruction and 40 years of experience. Each class is $15. Gallery visitors can watch Denny Bingaman as creates clay sculptures of wildlife. Thursday, June 29, 2017 – Corks and Clay Workshop:
6 to 8 p.m. $30 Ceramic Arts Studio of Waynesboro – 13 S. Church St., Waynesboro, PA 17268. Add charm to your picnic table with a set of handmade salt and pepper shakers. Shakers will be made from a combination of slab and sculpture and decorated using various decorative applications. Fee includes instruction, materials, glaze, and firings. 5:30 to 8 p.m. Gallery 50 – 50 W. Main St., Waynesboro, PA 17268. Enjoy an evening of jazz with Andrew & Company Jazz. Featuring Andrew Sussman (keyboard), Tim Gotwald (flute and sax), Herm Hopple (bass), Sam Hepfur (drums), plus special guests including Tom McFarland. Saturday, July 1, 2017 – Portrait Painting Demonstration:
12 to 2 p.m. 42 West ARTS Co-Op – 42 W. Main St., Waynesboro, PA 17268. Co-Op member, Donna Bingaman, will be demonstrating the art of portrait painting. For more information, contact the co-op at 717-762-8394.
A graduate of the Washington School of Arts, Bingaman is a juried member of the Oil Painters of America and has won several awards for her work. In 2002, she was featured in a solo show at the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts in Hagerstown, MD. Her portraits are currently displayed in the Chambersburg Court House and Annex as well as in private collections.
Sunday, July 2, 2017 – Drum Circle:
2 to 3:30 p.m. 42 West ARTS Co-Op – 42 West Main Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Patric Schlee invites young and old to join him for a drum circle at the co-op on Sunday. Beginner Pottery Workshop:
Dates and times vary depending on session. Walnut Street Studios – 117 Walnut St., Waynesboro, PA 17268. Learn the basics of wheel throwing and hand building workshop led by Donte Moore. Students will receive 50 pounds of clay, four 2-hour classes, pottery toolkit, and firings with $200 fee. Register by calling 717-977-8987 or by emailing [email protected]. Session 1: Sundays on July 2, 9, 16, and 23 from 2-4 p.m. Session 2: Mondays on July 3, 10, 17, and 24 from 6-8 p.m. Session 3: Wednesdays on July 5, 12, 19, 26 from 6-8 p.m.
Donte Moore is a recent graduate of Shippensburg University with a Bachelor of Arts. This fall he will be attending the University of Delaware to pursue a Master of Fine Arts in Ceramics.

Gallery 50’s (50 West Main Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268) Artwork by local and regional artists is on display and for sale. The walls are filled with fine art paintings in beautiful frames. The tables are covered with outstanding examples of pottery, wood work, jewelry, sculpture, cards and even hand made soaps. Truly an experience for the senses – especially with the addition of music performances during “Wine Down Friday.”
