Waynesboro, PA: Destination ARTS! activities continue in Waynesboro, PA with art exhibits and special events scheduled at Gallery 50, 42 West ARTS Co-Op, Through the Lens & Beyond, and the Ceramic Arts Center of Waynesboro. The galleries feature oil paintings, watercolors, pottery, sculptures, jewelry, photographs, furniture, and more. This weekend, they will be open on Thursday from 1 to 4 p.m. (Gallery 50 and 42 West ARTS Co-Op only), Friday from 5 to 8 p.m., Saturday from 12 to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m.
Wednesday, April 5, 2017 – Crafting Gourd Bird House and Oil Painting Class:
12 to 3 p.m. 42 West ARTS Co-Op – 42 West Main Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Join Donna Bingaman at her weekly painting class every Wednesday while Patric Schlee provides ambient music designed to inspire! Each student benefits from her personal instruction and 40 years of experience. Each class is $15. Wednesday, April 5, 2017 – Writers Forum:
5 to 7 p.m. 32 West Main Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Writers of all genres are welcome to join the monthly Writer’s Forum meeting. Participants will share written works inspired by “Foolish things I’ve done. The Writers Forum meets on the first Wednesday of each month to share contributions that usually pertain to a selected subject. After the initial ‘round and round’ contributors can share works on other subjects – be it prose, memoirs, or story-telling. Visitors are welcome as well as ideas for future meetings.

Gallery 50 Curator, Marjorie Tressler, will be conducting her weekly demo covering a variety of subjects, including portraits, landscapes, and other genres. While there, enjoy our new window display “Down on the Farm” accompanied by new artwork featuring new artist Tina Stonestreet and frequent artists Steve Nevada and Tom Renner. Thursday, April 6, 2017 – Contemporary Choir:

April 7-9, 2017 – Egg in Art Gallery Walk:
Times and locations vary. Visit the galleries of Destination ARTS! to discover artwork “Eggs” that have been created and hidden by area artists in their preferred artistic medium. Pick up an entry form at any gallery and have it stamped at all four locations for a chance to win a basket of goodies. The winner will be announced at the Artists Connection on April 10, 2017. His music is a pleasing blend of blue and roots music to support his iconic vocal style. Wine and light refreshments will be available. From small corner bars to large auditoriums, Staver has gained the experience and knowledge of a professional musician while maintaining the mindset to never get ahead of himself. A graduate of the Washington School of Arts, Bingaman is a juried member of the Oil Painters of America and has won several awards for her work. In 2002, she was featured in a solo show at the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts in Hagerstown, MD. Her portraits are currently displayed in the Chambersburg Court House and Annex as well as in private collections.

Denny Bingaman is a native of Waynesboro, PA who uses wildlife imagery as a source of inspiration for much of his art, including photography, gourd carving, and sculpting. Bingaman will use his clay sculptures to render rubber molds for cold-casting sculptures in bronze and copper. After casting, a patina is applied and finished off with steel wool and an application of wax.
Saturday, April 8, 2017 – Children’s Pottery Workshop:
1 to 3 p.m. – Ceramic Arts Studio of Waynesboro – 13 South Church Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Children will receive step-by-step instruction to create an artistic clay dreamcatcher. The group is open to all artists and those passionate about the arts. The meeting serves as an opportunity to share ideas, discuss art and the newest techniques you have learned, mentor younger artists, and generally inspire one another. Marjorie Tressler will continue her demo from last month’s meeting by covering her oil painting process focusing on value and color. The winner of the “Egg in Art” hunt will also be drawn at the meeting. There are no cost or dues – just a way for artists to connect! Gallery 50’s (50 West Main Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268) Artwork by local and regional artists is on display and for sale. The walls are filled with fine art paintings in beautiful frames. The tables are covered with outstanding examples of pottery, wood work, jewelry, sculpture, cards and even hand made soaps. Truly an experience for the senses – especially with the addition of music performances during “Wine Down Friday.”
