Waynesboro, PA: Destination ARTS! activities continue in Waynesboro, PA with art exhibits and special events scheduled at Gallery 50, 42 West ARTS Co-Op, Gallery 35 East, and the Ceramic Arts Center of Waynesboro. The galleries feature oil paintings, watercolors, pottery, sculptures, jewelry, photographs, furniture, and more. This weekend, they will be open on Thursday from 1 to 4 p.m. (Gallery 50 and 42 West ARTS Co-Op only), Friday from 5 to 8 p.m., Saturday from 12 to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m.

Wednesday, October 11, 2017 – Gourd Art Demo and Oil Painting Class:
12 to 3 p.m. 42 West ARTS Co-Op – 42 W. Main St., Waynesboro, PA 17268. Join Donna Bingaman at her weekly painting class every Wednesday while Patric Schlee provides ambient music designed to inspire! Thursday, October 12, 2017 – Oil Painting Demonstration:
1 to 4 p.m. Gallery 50 – 50 W. Main Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Marjorie Tressler is facilitating a painting session and demo with a focus on the learning process of painting from a student’s perspective. While there, browse through the art featuring pottery by new artist Judy Hoffman-Bolton and find a unique gift!
Friday, October 13, 2017 – Wheel Throwing Demo:
5 to 8 p.m. Ceramic Arts Center of Waynesboro – 13 South Church Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Mary Ashe-Mahr will demonstrate wheel throwing techniques as she creates a variety of cylinders, mugs, and bowls. While there check out their pottery store and sign up for a Corks and Clay class! Friday October 13, 2017 – Musical Demonstration:
5:30 to 8 p.m. 42 West ARTS Co-Op – 42 W. Main St., Waynesboro, PA 17268. Patric Schlee will entertain visitors with a variety of musical instruments, including the didgeridoo, flute, and drums. Friday, Oct. 13, 2017 – Live Music Friday:
5:30 to 8 p.m. Music Makers – 46 W. Main St., Waynesboro, PA 17268. The Willys Trio will be performing popular music by the Beatles, Crowded House, Indigo Girls, The Holliesm, and more. The group features Bill Serfass (guitar/vocal), Neil Ecker (percussion/vocal), and Bill Mitchell (guitar/vocal). Wine and light refreshments will be served. For more information, call 717-655-2915.
The Willys Trio is 75 percent of The Willys who have five albums of original songs to their credit. They play an interesting mix of acoustic alternative, electric power pop, punk, and rock and roll. Saturday, October 14, 2017 – Portrait Painting Class:
12 to 2 p.m. 42 West ARTS Co-Op – 42 W. Main St., Waynesboro, PA 17268. Co-Op member, Donna Bingaman, will be demonstrating the art of portrait painting. For more information, contact the co-op at 717-762-8394.
A graduate of the Washington School of Arts, Bingaman is a juried member of the Oil Painters of America and has won several awards for her work. In 2002, she was featured in a solo show at the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts in Hagerstown, MD. Her portraits are currently displayed in the Chambersburg Court House and Annex as well as in private collections.
Saturday, October 14, 2017 – Photographing the Total Solar Eclipse:
1 to 3 p.m. 42 West ARTS Co-Op – 42 W. Main St., Waynesboro, PA 17268. Co-op member Andy Smetzer will discuss his experience photographing the solar eclipse in Kentucky this past August. Monday, October 16, 2017 – Oil & Acrylic Painting Class:

Marjorie Tressler invites artists of all ability levels to attend her weekly painting class in Gallery 50 that will cover both oil and acrylic mediums. Marjorie is a classically trained artist who teaches drawing, color theory and composition in the style of the old masters. These fun and relaxed sessions are $65 for 6 classes. The group is open to all artists and those passionate about the arts and includes a fifteen-minute demo. The meeting serves as an opportunity to share ideas, discuss art and the newest techniques you have learned, mentor younger artists, and generally inspire one another. The tables are covered with outstanding examples of pottery, wood work, jewelry, sculpture, cards and even hand made soaps.
