Henri Verdel, born in the Netherlands, emigrated to the USA with his parents and little sister in 1957—to the DC suburbs. His father taught him to play the harmonica and sing at a young age, and the Beatles and Herman’s Hermits made him crazy about the guitar. He played rhythm in several rock bands in Landover Hills, then moved on to a regular job and family life, which landed him in Hagerstown in 1986. He began writing his own material in 2005 and currently performs in the area.
Dancin’ Dave” Dishneau writes songs about things people love, like romance, food and cars. He writes songs about things people hate, like stinkbugs, winter and heartbreak. He plays guitar and harmonica. He’s pretty lively. His many musical heroes include Elvis Costello, John Hartford, and John Hiatt.
With the health and safety of our community in mind, we have implemented the following policies:
• Face masks are required.
• All guests must practice social distancing.
• If you are not feeling well or are experiencing any symptoms of illness, please remain at home.
• Upon entry, guests must sign in and provide contact information.
• Guests will be limited to 30 people max in the combined Music Makers/Gallery 50 space.
• While in Gallery 50, shop with your eyes and only touch what you plan to purchase.
• Friday nights, you must enter through Gallery 50. The Music Makers door will be exit only.
• BYOB: What you carry in—you must carry out. Please drink responsibly.
• No food will be allowed, and we will not be serving snacks and refreshments.
All surfaces in Gallery 50 and Music Makers were cleaned and disinfected on Monday, June 15 by Gladhill Services. In addition, hand sanitizer will be available, a plexiglass shield has been added to our front desk, and we will be disinfecting commonly touched surfaces.
In Music Makers, chairs have been spaced to provide safe social distancing for both our performers and audience members. Musicians are also required to wear masks when not performing.
Inclement Weather Policy
The Arts Alliance of Greater Waynesboro (AAGW) recognizes the fact that inclement weather can affect the organizations’s ability to be open for business, hold events, and the employees’ and volunteers’ abilities to get to and attend events. The safety of the AAGW’s employees and volunteers is paramount to the organization. If any of the following events occur, Gallery 50, Music Makers, and all events associated with the AAGW are considered cancelled for that day:
(1) The governor declares a weather emergency and asks people to stay off the roads
(2) Waynesboro Area School District cancels school or after-school activities due to inclement weather
(3) Penn State Mont Alto cancels evening classes.
The AAGW will make every attempt to update social media to reflect the cancellation by 3pm for any evening events and by 8:30am for any morning events, but any notification stating one of the (3) events listed above has occurred should be considered notification of the cancellation.
