Chris Anderson – Live Music Friday!

April 7, 2023 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm

FREE

LIVE MUSIC – FREE ADMISSION
Chris Anderson started playing guitar over sixty years ago at the age of seven. He appeared on stage for the first time at the age of thirteen. Since then, Chris has been featured in concert series in Pittsburgh, PA; Washington, DC; Richmond, VA; Baltimore, MD; Harrisburg, PA; Wilmington, DE; and many other towns throughout the mid-Atlantic region. Anderson’s music has also been heard in interviews on WAMU (NPR from the nation’s capital), Maryland Public Television, and the West Virginia Public Radio network.
These days, Anderson is performing music that is firmly rooted in the Americana genre. It’s a public return to the music on his 1993 recording “Looking Back.” You’ll hear a mixture of southern blues, Appalachian ballads, songs from songwriters Bob Dylan, Guy Clark, and Kris Kristofferson, and some of his original material as well. It’s been said that “he’s a link to Greenwich Village in the 1960’s. He’s obviously deeply connected to this music.”
Please enter through Gallery 50 (50 West Main Street) and check out the amazing art! Gallery 50, Music Makers, and Destination ARTS! are all initiatives of the non-profit Arts Alliance of Greater Waynesboro. Free live music has been presented in Waynesboro every weekend since July 2013 (except when closed during the pandemic). Donations are gratefully accepted to help keep this and other events going.

Inclement Weather Policy

The Arts Alliance of Greater Waynesboro (AAGW) recognizes the fact that inclement weather can affect the organizations’s ability to be open for business, hold events, and the employees’ and volunteers’ abilities to get to and attend events. The safety of the AAGW’s employees and volunteers is paramount to the organization. If any of the following events occur, Gallery 50, Music Makers, and all events associated with the AAGW are considered cancelled for that day:

(1) The governor declares a weather emergency and asks people to stay off the roads

(2) Waynesboro Area School District cancels school or after-school activities due to inclement weather

(3) Penn State Mont Alto cancels evening classes.

The AAGW will make every attempt to update social media to reflect the cancellation by 3pm for any evening events and by 8:30am for any morning events, but any notification stating one of the (3) events listed above has occurred should be considered notification of the cancellation.
