“This is a fun, light-hearted exhibition of artwork that’s mostly colorful, always beautiful, and sometimes a little scary!” Gallery 50 curator Marti Yeager said. “There are paintings, photography, hand-pulled prints, and fabulous fabric art by 11 talented artists. Plants and animals are the subject—something for everyone—so we hope you will come and see ‘Where the Wild Things Are.’”
The gallery will also have new fine art and crafts by local artists available on the shelves: pottery, jewelry, wood carvings, stained glass art, and more.
Following the reception, the exhibit will be on display through October 26, 2024. Gallery 50 is open Fridays from 5–8 p.m. and Saturdays from 11:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m. The full exhibit will soon be available to browse and purchase on the gallery’s online shop at www.gallery50-aagw.square.site
Gallery 50 is owned and operated by the Arts Alliance of Greater Waynesboro and spotlights fine art and high-quality crafts from local artists and artisans.
Inclement Weather Policy
The Arts Alliance of Greater Waynesboro (AAGW) recognizes the fact that inclement weather can affect the organizations’s ability to be open for business, hold events, and the employees’ and volunteers’ abilities to get to and attend events. The safety of the AAGW’s employees and volunteers is paramount to the organization. If any of the following events occur, Gallery 50, Music Makers, and all events associated with the AAGW are considered cancelled for that day:
(1) The governor declares a weather emergency and asks people to stay off the roads
(2) Waynesboro Area School District cancels school or after-school activities due to inclement weather
(3) Penn State Mont Alto cancels evening classes.
The AAGW will make every attempt to update social media to reflect the cancellation by 3pm for any evening events and by 8:30am for any morning events, but any notification stating one of the (3) events listed above has occurred should be considered notification of the cancellation.
