Willie Dingledein, Team Leader for the 4-H Robotics Club of Franklin County will do a presentation on STEAM: Powering 21st Century Education by Competitive Team Robot Building. Attendees will learn how a Franklin County-based FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Crobotompetition team is motivating students to consider careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) by encouraging the students to build a competition-ready robot in six weeks. Tressler teaches art locally and has conducted classes at the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts, where her portraits were featured in a solo show in 1993. She is a former student of the Schuler School of Fine Arts and has studied with several nationally known and prominent local artists over the last 35 years. Tressler has been Gallery 50’s lead curator and director since 2013.

Learn the ancient Japanese technique of printing inks of inks floating on water from instructor Pamela “Soaring Raven” Nelson. A graduate of the Washington School of Arts, Bingaman is a juried member of the Oil Painters of America and has won several awards for her work. In 2002, she was featured in a solo show at the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts in Hagerstown, MD. Her portraits are currently displayed in the Chambersburg Court House and Annex as well as in private collections.

Marjorie Tressler2-4 p.m. Gallery 50 – 50 West Main Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Curator and director Marjorie Tressler will be conducting an oil painting demonstration featuring a large landscape. For more information, call 717-655-2915.

Tressler teaches art locally and has conducted classes at the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts, where her portraits were featured in a solo show in 1993. She is a former student of the Schuler School of Fine Arts and has studied with several nationally known and prominent local artists over the last 35 years. Tressler has been Gallery 50’s lead curator and director since 2013.

Ingels is a singer/songwriter from Waynesboro, PA and has written songs and performed with several local groups, including the Boro Boogie Pickers. Ingels’ lyrical content is a mixture of storytelling and geographic imagery backed by folk chord patterns, simple melodies, and blues-driven rhythm.

Rod Meyer and his wife Karri Benedict will be working in clay and demonstrating how they create stoneware and decorative Raku pottery. Rod Meyer and Karri Benedict have been making pottery together for more than 37 years. Their work shows a great respect for fine craftsmanship and their sense of design is strongly influenced by function. They produce a full line of pieces for the home that are lead-free and dishwasher, microwave, and oven safe. They are both juried members of the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen and own and operate Willow Creek Pottery.

Beard has been a woodworker for the past 50 years and has exhibited in art shows and galleries since 1966. He is a graduate of St. John’s College and the University of Florida and is a member of the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsman, the Lincoln Highway Heritage Group, and the Woodworking Advisory Board.

A graduate of the Washington School of Arts, Bingaman is a juried member of the Oil Painters of America and has won several awards for her work. Participants are encouraged to write a song, lyric, or instrumental piece that is inspired by that month’s theme. All genres are welcome and participants share their results, process, feedback with one another. Once a quarter, the group performs their songs for the public.

Saturday, Nov. 26, 2016 – Cold-Cast Demonstration:

Co-op member, Denny Bingaman, will be using a rubber mold made from a previous sculpture of a dragonfly in clay to create a new piece using the cold cast method. Denny Bingaman is a native of Waynesboro, PA who uses wildlife imagery as a source of inspiration for much of his art, including photography, gourd carving, and sculpting. Bingaman will use his clay sculptures to render rubber molds for cold-casting sculptures in bronze and copper. After casting, a patina is applied and finished off with steel wool and an application of wax.
