“Destination ARTS!” Gallery Events – Thursday, December 18 – Sunday, December 21

“Destination ARTS!” activities continue in Waynesboro with special events and live music scheduled at Gallery 50, Gallery 20 East and 42 West ARTS Co-Op. The Ceramic Arts Center of Waynesboro and The Contemporary School of the Arts & Gallery will also have art and pottery for sale and art classes available.

Donna Bingaman 5 400Marjorie TresslerOn Thursday afternoon, fine artist Marjorie Tressler will be painting inside of Gallery 50. Donna Bingaman takes her turn putting brush to canvas at the 42 West ARTS Co-Op on Friday. Both demonstrations are scheduled to begin at 1:00.
WineDone“Wine Down Friday” receptions, featuring wine and light refreshments, are scheduled from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Gallery 50, Gallery 20 East, 42 West ARTS Co-Op and The Ceramic Arts Center of Waynesboro.

GrinandBeerItGiftCertSampleThis week’s theme is “Grin and Beer It.” For husbands (or anyone) having difficulty choosing a gift for someone special, the gallery volunteers will offer assistance. In addition to wine, beer will be served at the receptions, and volunteers will offer free gift wrapping for anyone who purchases one of the more than 1,000 pieces of artwork on sale in the five galleries. Still too hard to choose? Purchase a Destination ARTS! Gift Certificate as it is always the right choice.

ChristmasCarolersThere will be no shortage of Holiday Spirit in Gallery 20 East on Friday night, as the quartet of Gerald Kowallis, Patrick McNamee, Deb Hollen and Fara Biesecker will lead a sing-along featuring popular songs of the season beginning at 5:30. Audience members are encouraged to participate.

Mountain Air(1)Down the street at Gallery 50, the music of Mountain Air will be on display. No strangers to the “Destination ARTS!” initiative, the trio of Bobbi Smith (guitar and vocals), Lisa Donohoe (mandolin and vocals) and Bob Murphy (upright bass) will start performing their blend of acoustic contemporary folk and pop country tunes at 5:30.

Patric SchleeePatric Schlee’s start time is the also 5:30 at 42 West ARTS Co-Op. He’ll be playing flute and drums.

 

DisneyRevueDeb Hollen returns to Gallery 20 East on Saturday with a group of young actors and actresses to sing selections from Trinity Players’ recent production of A Disney Revue. The show was well-received during a weekend of performances at Trinity United Church of Christ last month. Now, it’s coming to Main Street from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.

HeatwolePointsDavid F. Heatwole’s “energistic and synergistic” paintings known as “Points of Perception” continue to be featured as part of the latest exhibit at The Contemporary School of the Arts & Gallery.

The Contemporary School of the Arts & Gallery (10 East Main Street) and
The Ceramic Arts Center of Waynesboro (13 South Church Street).

Together, the galleries feature oil paintings, watercolors, pottery, fiber arts, sculpture, photographs, furniture, prints and much more. They are open each week as follows:

Thursdays from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Fridays from 12:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Saturdays from 12:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Sundays from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
